Hong Kong – Intertek, the leading provider of quality, safety and environmental services, has helped Lenovo to assess the life cycle environmental impacts of its new generation of desktop – Thinkcentre M90z.

“Lenovo is committed to taking a leadership position in environmental affairs in all of its business activities, which includes striving to deliver greener technologies. We used Intertek’s expertise in the area of product lifecycle analysis (LCA) to gain more independent analysis of our products’ environmental impacts as we progressed it through development and product-launch stages,” said Mei Lee, Product Manager of Global Desktop Marketing at Lenovo. “The LCA analysis proves that the ThinkCentre M90z has a low carbon footprint at the use stage, due to the low the energy consumption of the new design.”

Christophe Liebon, International Business Development Director at Intertek, said, “We are pleased to support Lenovo’s commitment to greener technologies. Analyzing the lifecycle of a product enables a company to understand the total impact of that product on the environment, from its design and inception through its production, distribution and finally its end-life. Consumers are eager to learn more about the product they buy, its impact on the environment and what progressive companies like Lenovo are doing to reduce the environmental footprint of their products.”
