Textile Exchange and GOTS organisations developed a set of robust standards to meet these growing needs, helping companies and consumers authenticate sustainability claims from raw material to its final product. The goal of the Textile Exchange certifications is to drive sustainability both in the textile and non-textile industry and encourage the use of recycled, organic, or preferred materials in products to minimize the harm caused by its production. While the aim of GOTS certification is to ensure the organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labelling in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer.

Intertek is an accredited certification body for GOTS and for the following Textile Exchange standards GRS, RCS, OCS and CCS, including supply chain companies for RDS, and RAF (RWS, RMS, RAS) with a secondary scope (i.e. all RDS sites after the slaughter site and all RAF sites after the farm).
